2009 Phillip Island GP winner Casey Stoner has given his support for the Pink Ribbon Ride, by donating and signing a T-shirt, to be used as a fundraiser for the cause. Casey's marketing manager commented that Casey's focus at "The Island" was such that he would not be involved with any signings this weekend. Thankfully Casey made an exception (for which we are grateful) and we will have the shirt on offer at the Pink Ribbon Ride.
The shirt will be professionally framed, and on offer to the highest bidder during the silent auction on Sunday the 25th. Other items up for auction are a Framed pink 2009 Australian GP Grid Girl T-shirt signed by Troy Bayliss, Wayne Gardner and Mick Doohan and a rare 2000 Phillip Island Yamaha baseball cap signed by Max Biagi.
Those who prefer to have a lucky dip, there will be a raffle. Tickets are $3 for 1, $5 for 2 or $10 for 5. Some of the prices are 2x Grandstand passes to the 2010 Australian F1-GP, golf day for 4 people at Sanctuary Lakes private golf course, advanced rider training voucher from Stay Upright, posters signed by Girl Power Amy O'mara on the pink #68 Yamaha race-bike, 2x Good Wool Store sheepskin motorcycle seat covers, Girlrider Leather jacket plus many other prizes.

The Pink Ribbon Ride is a motorcycle event that raises awareness and funds for The Cancer Council Victoria and takes place on Sunday OCTOBER 25th 2009. We have riders leaving from 10 locations around Victoria. Riders are expected to arrive at Point Cook Town Centre at 11am.
Point Cook Motorcycle club together with the Point Cook Town Centre has organised a festival at Point Cook. The main roads will be closed off to traffic with only motorcycle parking on these roads. Entertainment will be provided by local schools, Mr Greg Evans and music bands including Retromax. There will be some motorcycle related traders showing their wares at the centre. Riders pay $20 entry to the ride and everyone is encouraged to purchase some raffle tickets. Prices for the raffle are supplied by our corporate sponsors. These include a $400 advanced rider training package at Broadford racetrack from Stay Upright, clothing from Girl Rider and others. Our goal this year is to raise in excess of $30.000.00 for the Cancer Council Victoria. We ask that you make this ride part of your ride calendar, spread the word, invite your friends and make sure that your motorcycle club takes part.

The Pink Ribbon Ride Committee is delighted to announce that RetroMax and the Fry Brothers have accepted an invitation to play at Point Cook Town Centre, they will be joined by students from Caramballac College and a Latin Dance troupe. RetroMax is well known for the many gigs they have performed at many and varied motorcycle club functions and rallies. RetroMax Members are Eugene La Fontaine on bass, Ian Visser on lead Guitar, lead & back-up vocals, Jean-Claude Pascal on keyboard, Mauurice Loos on drums, Michael Axon is the lead singer and Michael "Jonno" Johnstone on rhythm guitar. RetroMax takes you back to the sounds of the 70s, 80s and 90s. Songs that bring back memories of the mullet, tight pants and glossy shirts. Formed in 2002, the 6 members share a friendship going back more than 20 years, bringing together that unique style of music from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Retromax guarantee to get the Pink Ribbon Ride festival pumping with a great mix of classic songs from some of the greatest artists of the modern era and some brilliant one hit wonders to boot. The band currently plays to audiences at local pub venues, sports clubs, corporate and private functions.
The Fry Brothers, Tim and Roy Fry grew up in Hillcrest situated between two country towns in Victoria, Smythesdale and Snake Valley. At the age of six their parents encouraged the boys to develop their natural harmonies and guitar skills. Their father, who played guitar, started teaching the boys. Tim played lapsteel and Roy played acoustic guitar.
Since their father was a founding member of the Ballarat Country Music Club, it gave them them a chance to create their own sound and playing style. The brothers performed throughout their childhood and teens as an acoustic duo an in a succession of country to rock bands until they parted for a time whilst Roy completed a formal education in classical guitar and composition. Tim joined a touring country band playing pedal steel and performed at different venues throughout Victoria up to Queensland.

The organising committee is hoping to have all points finalised by the end of June. After an initial call to various clubs, the Pink Ribbon Ride is well on its way. Clubs are supporting the event and ride departure points are taking shape. For the latest information on departure poins please look at the 2009 Ride Departure Map. The concept of having multiple departure points culminating to a single destination point is new to the motorcycling ride itinerary. This concept allows clubs to have more input into their ride into Point Cook and it allows the club to rid e in a way they are used to, furthermore the clubs get some exposure to their local community by allowing non-members to join their ride for the day. The next couple of weeks will see the number of departure points increase. We hope to see you and your club participate in this worthwhile fund-raiser.
